Some payment gateways require additional configuration to function properly. Please follow the guide below to correctly set up your Civica payment gateway.

How to Setup Civica

Please note that payments may be aborted when using web browsers such as Chrome or Firefox, as these do not support the necessary ActiveX plugins. This guide will instruct you on how to configure Internet Explorer 11 to enable the Civica payment gateway for MOTO (Mail Order/Telephone Order) payments as an administrator.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Open Internet Explorer: Launch the Internet Explorer browser on your computer.
  2. Access Compatibility View Settings: Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the window to open the Tools menu, then select Compatibility View settings from the dropdown.
  3. Add Civica Payment Gateway Host: In the Compatibility View settings window, type in the Civica payment gateway host address civicaepay.co.uk, and click Add. This ensures that Internet Explorer treats the Civica site as a compatible website, enabling the necessary plugins to function.
  4. Navigate to Admin Billing Page: Return to your admin dashboard and proceed to the billing page. Select the option "Complete with Card" to initiate the payment process.
  5. Redirected to Civica Payment Gateway: After selecting the payment option, you will be redirected to the Civica payment gateway page.
  6. Download ActiveX Plugins: On the Civica payment gateway page, you will be prompted to download the required ActiveX plugins. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install them. Make sure to allow any necessary security prompts that may appear during this process.
  7. Test the Payment Process: Once the plugins are installed, return to the Civica payment gateway to ensure everything is functioning correctly. You should now be able to complete your payment without any issues.

Troubleshooting Tips

• If Payments Are Still Aborted: Ensure that your Internet Explorer settings are properly configured and that you have the latest updates installed. You may also want to check your security settings to ensure they are not blocking ActiveX content.

• Clear Browser Cache: If you experience any unexpected behaviour, clearing the browser cache may resolve issues related to old stored data.
