Capita Pay360 is also known as Capita SCP (Secure Card Portal) this Payment Gateway is one of our complex payment integrations. 


Before continuing, please ensure you're aware of which Capita Payment Gateway you're using. Capita updates their payment gateway names occassionaly and therefore the following may not be relevant.


Step 1: Obtain your Capita Information:


In order to connect your Capita Portal to the BookingLive Admin system, you will need ALL of the following information:

  • HMAC Key ID

This is usually a 3 digit number.

  • Secret Key (HMAC Key)

This is usually a long string of mixed characters.

  • Site Id

This is usually a 3 digit number.

  • SCPId

These are usually numbers.


Step 2: Add your Capita Information to your Booking System:


If you have access to your Booking System, follow the steps below:


  1. Go to Settings > Finances > Payment Gateway
  2. Press + Add Payment Gateway
  3. Name the payment gateway
  4. Check "Is Default"
  5. Choose CapitaSCP from the drop-down list provided
  6. Ensure the Status is in "Test" mode, from the drop-down list
  7. Select the cards that you accept payment from (this will display the images on the Summary Page before the customer pays)
  8. Add your refund policy (optional)
  9. Save


Upon saving, further fields will display towards the bottom of the page.


These fields will be the Capita Information that you would have got in Step 1. Copy and paste this information into the relevant fields. Ensure you save your changes once this has been added.


It is important to know that the information provided by Capita is very specific. Make sure that you're copying the information exactly, there should not be any spaces at the end of this information.




If you would like to take Admin Bookings (i.e take payment over the phone - MOTO) repeat the above steps but instead of checking "Is Default" on point 4, check "MOTO".

To note for Capita, if your Booking System is in an iFrame there'll likely be errors as this isn't supported.


If this information entered incorrectly, the payment page may display a blank/empty page.


Step 3: Add / set up Accounting Codes:


This step is vital. You need to ensure that every Product set up in your booking system has an Accounting Code set up and linked.

Each field must be filled out correctly.

You will need to obtain the following information in order to set this up:

  • Name (reference in Booking System)
  • Accounting Code (aka Reference in CapitaSCP)
  • Tax Code (aka VAT Code in CapitaSCP)
  • Fund code 


If this information entered incorrectly, the payment page may display a blank/empty page.

Step 4: Make a test payment:


You will now be able to make a test payment, providing you have Products & Events setup within your Booking System. 


To make a test payment transaction on the test gateway, please enter the following card number 4444333322221111.


Additional Notes:


If you're experiencing an issue with the Capita SCP Payment Gateway, before raising a ticket, please ensure that you have checked the following:


  • The product names should have 1 - 100 characters.
  • Accounting Code 1 - 50 characters.
  • Tax Code 1 - 5 characters.
  • Fund Code 1 - 5 characters.
  • Every Product should be linked to the correct Accounting Code (including Physical Items / Event Upsells).
  • The Capita Information should be exactly as provided by Capita, no spaces should be at the end or start of this information.
